Megion Research & Development is a European start-up working on the development of a social media hardware and software platform called Mycelium MEDIA. The aim of this platform is to enable the development of a range of application specific wireless ad-hoc networks with optional connection to the Internet, elaborating the Internet-of-Things concept and involving pervasive computing.

The Mycelium MEDIA project had been conceived in 2007 by a group of enthusiasts. The main technical developments were then realized by various R&D groups. In 2011 the feasibility study of the Mycelium MEDIA platform was successfully accomplished and the decision to centralize the development activities in one place was taken.

Megion R&D is a private company headquarterted in Vienna, Austria.
